About the Campaign
Age: 13 years. Class: 7 No parents: 64-year-old Grandma Bishnu Maya Tamang When Nima was only 5 years old, her father suddenly passed away. Feeling alone in her struggle for 4 years, Nima’s mother decided to remarry and to run away from the memory of her painful past. Unfortunately, this past included then 8-year-old Nima. Nima was left alone with no mother and father. Overwhelmed with the pain for Nima, Nima’s old and widowed grandmother Bishnu decided to take soul care of her. Desperate to keep Nima in school, grandmother Bishnu worked hard on her little farm alone to sell vegetables and fruits, with young Nima helping in-between her studies. Now, Bishnu fears the worst. Bishnu fears that she is starting to become too tired and old to keep up her farm work to pay for education and living expenses, and that Nima may have to drop out of school just so they can survive. Tearful about this situation, this is when we decided to help.
